Why is knowing your parenting Style Important?
How you treat your children is a reflection of who you are. Your parenting style reveals your strengths and weaknesses. Knowing your parenting style helps you correct or refine how you bring out the best in your kids.
basecamp story
A Parenting style is like the weather climbers are in when ascending a mountain.
If climbers ascend a mountain in a winter storm, they can get trapped in a whiteout, in high winds, and potentially freeze to death. If they climb in hot weather in the middle of the day, the snow can be too soft, making their steps sink too low, or crevasses can open up, potentially endangering their lives. Sure, climbers can still make it to the top and down, but there is more risk of failure.
Ideal climbing conditions are early in the morning on clear mornings. The snow is still hard, and the climbers can summit by sunrise. Then they can glissade down back to base camp.
A less effective parenting style can produce great kids and the ideal parenting style can produce disobedient kids–there is no guarantee. Regardless, the best way to ensure a positive outcome is to learn and practice the best parenting style possible. Just like the best way to ensure getting to the summit is to climb in ideal weather conditions.

It’s important to know all five because our society seems to push for the “I do as I want” (narcissit), and on the other side, our higher calling is to be the kind of person we want our children to be (discipler)
Highest Education’s five parenting styles provide a complete picture of what is real and what is possible.
The first one on the list is the worst, the kind you don’t want to be. The last one is the best and provides the best weather conditions to give your children a summit experience. The kind you want to experience. let’s take a closer look.
A parent who leads themselves well and who leads their children well is the best kind of parent, who provides the best kind of opportunities.
