There is so much to learn about trees! Did you know that…
- Being around trees makes you feel happier. Feeling sad? Spend a little time around trees, and your mood will lift.
- Trees share each others nutrients through their shared root systems. When one tree isn’t getting enough water, the other tree shares their nutrients. (Good role-modeling for humans)!
- Tree rings are like human tissue. The layers in between the rings produce different types of tissue for conducting water and minerals through the trunk.
The Adventure Days group had a blast at Carter Park with our tree experts from Clark County Parks. Susan, Jade, and Adella shared their knowledge about trees, send us off on a scavenger hunt, and led us on a tour of the urban forest. The park playground added a great feature for all ages. The rain held off once again, and many of us stayed to enjoy lunch together.
We gathered information. We fellowshipped. We took a pledge to keep learning about trees. We even dreamed about how God could expand our shared ministry to bless people around us. Next week will be exciting in it’s own way! Click here to learn more. See you next week!
