To be in nature; to be at camp! To play schoolhouse; to cook around the fire! To be outside; to be with friends! “Time spent amongst the trees is never wasted time.” – Katrina Mayer
Our early Thanksgiving feast was really a free-play day immersed in nature. Kids played school, built forts, went fishing, played hide-and-seek, climbed trees, and just had the time of their lives. Parents with younger children spent time walking the paths, talking with each other, and just being glad to be outside. Adults also had time to connect–to really connect–about life with kids and family. Like John Muir said, “In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.”
