Ask God for a continual baptism of His Holy Spirit, that this yearning for Him which He has placed inside of you will grow and shine “ever brighter unto the perfect day”:
As your soul yearns after God, you will find more and still more of the unsearchable riches of His grace. As you contemplate these riches you will come into possession of them and will reveal the merits of the Saviour’s sacrifice, the protection of His righteousness, the fullness of His wisdom, and His power to present you before the Father “without spot, and blameless.” 2 Peter 3:14 (AA 567)
Dear Heavenly Father,
I pray that our relationship will continue to grow as I intentionally spend more time communing with You, talking with You in prayer and listening to You through Your word–just being still in Your presence and meditating on the “riches of Your glory” until I “come into possession of them” and “reveal the merits of the Saviour’s sacrifice” in my life. Make me good on my promise to do whatever it takes to keep You as a priority in my life, so that all these life- and character-changing promises may be mine. Increase my faith so I truly trust You with all my heart and acknowledge You in all my ways, believing that spending time with You will always make my day better than tackling it without You. May my lack of time never be an excuse! I want to hear and obey Your “small whisper,” to detect “the mere edges of Your ways,” so I don’t need the jolt of an accident or an illness to turn my head and eyes in Your direction!
And God, throughout the day, I want to be on “continuous livestream” with You, keeping my eyes riveted on You, that I may be one with You as You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, are One. I want to say with David, “I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within my heart.” I praise Your name for this “new thing” You are doing in me! Thank You for rebuilding the ruined places and planting what was desolate, for putting Your Spirit in me, so that I will live, and placing me in my own land. Now I know, O Lord, that You “have spoken it and performed it.”
And now I simply pray the word you have given me today:
I bow my knees to You,
Asking that You would grant me
According to the riches of Your glory
To be strengthened with might through Your Spirit in the inner man,
That Christ may dwell in my heart through faith
That I, being rooted and grounded in love,
May be able to comprehend what is the width and length and depth and height of the love of Christ which passes knowledge,
That I may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to You who are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I can ask or think,
According to the power that works in me,
To You be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations,
Forever and ever,
Amen.
