Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me, and I learn.

A blazing start it was for the The Adventure Days Co-Op! The new year began with an extraordinary tour of Vancouver’s Fire Department #2, thanks to firefighter George Wilkinson and Nikki Smith who arranged it.

The Highest Education group met at The Center Adventist Community Service, then walked across the street to the fire station. The tour that commenced was all hands-on, sitting on the driver’s seat, putting on gear, holding tools, walking throughout the building, and even holding the hose while water shot out!

The life-lessons the group learned were invaluable. 1) Always give your best, 2) Never stop learning, and 3) Be unceasingly alert and available to help. These life lessons are so indispensable to a good human experience–and to a strong spiritual journey as well.

Isaiah 44:3 says “For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.“ The group is so thankful for public service providers who are always vigilant, risking their lives to save the lives of others. May we have the same spirit as we grow in courage and love!
