Through a winter storm, families gathered for Adventure Days to ice skate again. Two guest families joined the group at Mountain View Ice Arena and had a great time. The group played tag on ice…a bit scary, but a lot of fun!
“Tag, you’re it; and no tag backs!”
Young and old got tagged; Beginners and experienced skaters played the game; all were included in the chasing–”Got you, you’re it now!” Everyone had a great time.
Long ago on Creation week, God tagged Adam and Eve and said virtually the same thing. “Tag, you’re it–and no tag backs!” Adam and Eve soon produced little humans and took on the challenge of passing on the faith.
Jesus continued the game when he told his disciples “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8
Are you one of Jesus followers? If you are, then “tag, you’re it! and no tag backs!” The rules of the game are the following: You tag your family first, then you go on to tag others.
The families at Adventure Days this week are beautiful examples of passing on the faith to their children and beyond. Pastor Roger Walter and his wife, for example, work hard at lovingly guiding their children. They go as far as giving their children and other youth the opportunity to share the gospel through participating in evangelistic meetings. They have taken the game of tag seriously–have you?
