The video and photos of our glorious weekend in the Rockies this last weekend are not what they seem. A perfect family. Nothing that can upset. Sunshine and love everywhere.
As humans we like to capture the best moments, where the everyone is smiling. My family this last weekend captured those moments. But don’t be deceived! Though it was a beautiful weekend for us, it did not come without tears and pain. After 20 years of being married, Shelley and I have spend many days struggling through our issues. After 12 years, our children have given us many difficulties. Plans haven’t worked out. It has rained on us, and we have had to turn back dissapointed.
But it is during those difficult days that we gave God what we didn’t even have the ability to give Him. Our heartbreaks. Our heart’s desires. Our hearts. The storms of life come and go. But God’s love endures forever. Somehow my family has managed to keep our hope in God. And when we get a bright sunny weekend in the Rockies, we take it!
This trip was the result of thoughtful planning. I was on a ministry trip. My flight back required me to stay overnight in Denver. A budget airline had cheap tickets from PDX to DEN. why not bring my family over for the weekend? I called a friend. They gifted us with housing at the camp. And there it was, a weekend getaway in the Rockies. And to top it all of, we had awesome Fall weather!

We loved every moment of our stay. We saw old friends and made new. You too can meet some of these fine folks. Dan and Julia Hansen would love to meet you, and host your stay at the Glacier View Ranch lodge. Their rates are reasonable and the experience is comfortable and rustic at the same time. Check them out at https://www.glacierviewranch.com/.
We would like to return to GVR! Sign up for news on this website if you want to get info on a trip. Until then, be good and be strong!
