Before participating in Adventure Days, please consider the following guidelines.
Teamwork – Participants are encouraged to contribute thoughts, ideas, and actions to help make the Adventure Days co-op run well.
Common belief – While each family may differ in personal beliefs, Adventure Days’ families strive to have the same biblical Christian worldview. While none of us are perfect, we must strive to apply Christian values to our daily living.
Eligibility – Adventure Days Co-Op is open to families that are actively engaged in homeschooling, with at least one child in grades K-12th. Homeschooling is defined as any schooling that occurs in the “home.”
Participation Fees – Please click this link to choose one of the following ways to partner financially with this ministry. Extra fees beyond your financial partnership may include field trips, special events, or class fees for labs, textbooks, reading books, art supplies, etc.
Clean-up – Each family is asked to help with clean-up needs. Thank you!
Participation Length – We encourage all to register with the intent to participate for the entire school year. You can still miss as many co-op days as you need to, but it’s good to know that you are committed!
Childcare – Dropping your children off can only be done if you have made previous arrangements with the director.
Kindness – We strive for language and conversations that uplift God. Please do not speak ill of or put down other members or children. Parents and students are asked to speak and act in ways that promote unity and encouragement among participants.
Communication – Primary communication is through Facebook group, the Remind texting app, email, and highesteducation.org. It is your responsibility to know what is going on :).
Vigilance – We ask that all parents actively keep a lookout for children, especially when they are running and being active.
Visitors – Family and friends interested in attending are welcome to visit. All participants must abide by the guidelines. You are welcome to invite friends to a special event, but when there are a limited number of spaces, Adventure Days regular participants will get first consideration.
Sick Policy – Please do NOT bring yourself or your child to co-op when sick or if you have had any of the following in the last 24 hours: Fever, sore throat, vomiting (defined as 2 or more times in a 24 hour period), body rash with fever, eye discharge, yellowish skin or eyes, or any other communicable disease (including but not limited to: skin infections, childhood diseases such as chicken pox, measles, Covid 19, etc.)
Discipline – Parents will be contacted if disciplinary problems arise. If the problem persists and cannot be corrected satisfactorily, the child may be removed from a co-op activity until the problem is corrected.
Conflict – With so many different personalities, conflicts and misunderstandings may arise. Most conflicts can be resolved by overlooking and forgiving the person who offended you. If God gives you peace over the issue, please move on and do not discuss it with others. If you still feel the conflict/difference must be addressed, please use Matthew 18:15-20 as a standard for your resolution. Take the problem first to the person you feel has offended you. If you cannot reach a satisfactory resolution, please ask for the assistance from a person who can be objective about the situation. If you still do not feel at peace, the problem may be taken to Adventure Days’ advisory committee. They will help resolve the matter. Above all, please do all of this with “a spirit of love and gentleness.” (I Corinthians 4:21)
Dismissal – Adventure Days reserves the right to terminate participation of any member when that is the only way possible to resolve a conflict. May this never happen!
Dress Code – We ask that parents and students alike dress appropriately for the occasion. Please avoid pop-culture advertising that communicates negative values, and please be modest at all times.
Cancelations – In the event of inclement weather that makes it unsafe for us to hold an event, please follow Battle Ground school closure announcements. You should receive communication from Adventure Days communication channels. If it is necessary to cancel Adventure Days for any other reasons, you will be notified as soon as possible.
Guideline changes – Guidelines in this page may not include every single guideline necessary to run our program smoothly. And these guidelines may change at any time at the discretion of the Director.
By becoming involved, you agree to the above guidelines!
