The Fort Vancouver National Historic Site is fantastic!

The co-op’s trip to Vancouver Fort was perfect–or close to it!

We welcomed two new co-op families, then gathered for prayer.

Soon after, the ranger began the tour to the different buildings–the kitchen, the chief factor’s house, the fur store, and the blacksmith shop.

Thanks to the volunteers dressed in era clothing, the buildings came alive with stories from the past.

What would the present...

...be like if we lived simpler lives like people did in the past? True, there are many benefits to a modern life, and the global population is so much bigger. But what can we do in the present to enjoy a better future like God originally intended?
Build bigger buildings and produce faster, fancier devices?
Build more battery plants and mine the earth more for more electric everything?
Highest Education’s call is to return to God’s original blueprint;

which in today’s language can translate to:

01 simpler, more thoughtful living

This is a great discussion and challenge for us. As we wrestle with it, it will hopefully keep us from living bipolar lives–where we claim to follow the Creator God on one hand, but on the other destroy our bodies and planet one decision and action at a time.

02 Practicing Intentionality

Like Tony Robbins said, “your life changes the moment you make a new, congruent, and committed decision.”

03 Being at our Best in the Now

Like scripture says, “Make it your aim to live a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to earn your own living, just as we told you before. In this way you will win the respect of those who are not believers, and you will not have to depend on anyone for what you need.” 1 Thessalonians 4:11,12

May we pursue our highest education every day!
