Battle Ground Lake’s depth is believed to be about 60 feet near the center of the lake, but a few lake users have reported deeper regions believed to be volcanic cracks in the bedrock supporting the lake basin. Louise McKay Allworth Tucker, a local historian to Battle Ground, WA, explains in her book that, although unproven, a persistent legend claims Battle Ground Lake is indeed bottomless. In other words, no one know how deep the lake actually is.
There is a song by Jonathan David Helser entitled “Endless Ocean, Bottomless Sea.” Some of the lyrics are…
In the beginning, You were singing
In the end You’ll still be, singing over me
In this moment, You’re right beside me
You’re everywhere, You’re in the air that I breathe
In the end You’ll still be, singing over me
In this moment, You’re right beside me
You’re everywhere, You’re in the air that I breathe
You are an endless ocean
A bottomless sea
A bottomless sea
All those angels, they are swimming
In this ocean and they still can find no shore
Day and night, night and day
They keep seeing new sides of Your face
In this ocean and they still can find no shore
Day and night, night and day
They keep seeing new sides of Your face
You are an endless ocean
A bottomless sea
A bottomless sea
